Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: February 16, 2026

At Air Bird Travel, we understand that life happens and travel plans can change unexpectedly. Our cancellation policy is designed to be as transparent as possible, helping you understand your options when you need to call off a trip.

1. The 24-Hour "Risk-Free" Cancellation

For most flights booked at least 7 days before departure, you may cancel your reservation within 24 hours of booking without any airline penalty. This is in line with U.S. aviation standards. If you miss this 24-hour window, standard airline fare rules will apply immediately.

2. Types of Cancellations

  • Standard Cancellations: Most economy tickets are "non-refundable." If you cancel after the 24-hour window, you may not receive cash back, but the airline may issue a Future Flight Credit (minus a change fee) for you to use within one year.
  • Flexible/Refundable Tickets: If you purchased a fully refundable fare, you may cancel anytime before your flight's departure for a full refund to your original payment method.
  • Involuntary Cancellations: If the airline cancels your flight due to weather, mechanical issues, or scheduling, you are entitled to a cancellation without penalty and a full refund.

3. Cancellation Fees

Air Bird Travel does not charge a fee for cancellations made within the initial 24-hour window. For cancellations made after 24 hours:

  • Airline Fees: Most airlines charge a fee ranging from $75 to $200+ for domestic and international cancellations.
  • Agency Service Fee: Air Bird Travel may charge a nominal administrative fee to process manual cancellations that require direct coordination with airline help desks.

4. How to Cancel Your Flight

To ensure your request is timestamped and processed correctly, please follow these steps:

  • Online: Log in to "My Bookings" on airbirdtravel.com and select the 'Request Cancellation' button.
  • Email: Send an urgent request to info@airbirdtravel.com .
  • Phone: Call our support line for immediate assistance if your flight is departing within the next 24 hours.

5. "No-Show" Policy

If you do not cancel your flight before the scheduled departure time and fail to check in, the airline will mark you as a "No-Show." This typically results in the total forfeiture of the ticket value, meaning you will not be eligible for a refund or a flight credit.

6. Special Circumstances

In cases of a medical emergency or the death of an immediate family member, some airlines may waive cancellation fees. Air Bird Travel will act on your behalf to present required documentation (such as a doctor's note) to the airline to advocate for a waiver, though the final decision rests solely with the carrier.

Important Note: We highly recommend purchasing Travel Insurance at the time of booking to protect yourself against unforeseen cancellation costs.
